About "Carnival in Rio"

Carnival in Rio was commissioned by SunInternational through the Everard Read Gallery in Johannesburg. It was destined for the VIP lounge in Carnival City in Brakpan. The commission was for two paintings which they wanted within a month. In the end I was given more time to complete the work.

It was great working on this large size. I was free to paint it in my style, and use bright colours and gold leaf. I didn't use models for this painting. I was very happy with the end result and so were the clients.

About Liane

I love standing in front of my canvas... here my oil paints blossom into figures and shapes. It's a magical experience for me as I never know how my painting will turn out in the end. I concentrate on figurative art. My last commissioned work was for SunInternational when I painted some large paintings for their VIP Lounge at Carnival City in Brakpan, South Africa.
