About "Guardian Angel"

Many women put up a front. This painting portrays the vulnerability of someone who hides behind a mask, even protecting the guardian angel who is actually the villain - thus the anonimity of the other figure.

About Philip

Philip Hueber

PHILIP HUEBER

Born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa as Philip Hibbers, he showed a keen interest in fine art as a means to express himself as early back as his senior years at school.

He studied art, whereafter he joined the military. He also gained vast experience in photography, lithography and desktop publishing. Because of his interest in people he also studied psychology. This enabled him to pursue fundamental issues and asking questions about life by way of going back to basics. Hueber constantly examine the antipoles, the Yin & Yang, good and bad.

Hueber also worked in the fruit export business in the Western Cape, where he was exposed to flexography and packaging. The superb artistic vibe and environment in Cape Town inspired him so much that he decided to fulfill his lifelong passion putting his experiences on canvas.

He currently has a keen interest in the origination of humankind. Through his research he found that his German forefathers arrived in the Eastern Cape (East London, South Africa) in 1858. He discovered that the true family name was actually Hueber, but due to interpretations over time, the original surname was eventually translated to Hibbers.

Hueber decided to continue the family name through his art.

His artwork is appreciated in various private collections.
