Reference Andavadoaka Woman's Association About "Madagascan women sewing" In the remote village of Andavadoaka, the village women have taking up sewing and embroidery to earn alternative income in a fishing-exclusively livelihood environment. This eases the pressure on the reef and environment as well as creating a social platform and solidarity of women working toward a more prosperous future for their families. The changes in Andavadoaka are in cooperation with Blue Ventures. This painting was auctioned in London to raise funds for family planning initiatives in and around Andavadoaka. If the painting reminds you of Gauguin, its because i derived inspiration for the colours from his work. |
