About "Mark"

Mark were a French chef who struggled to make a living in South-Africa and he were quite emotionless the entire time I worked on this sculpture. I could feel the pain in the lines across his face that dissapointment and poverty got the best part of his human existance on earth and it was very sad to me when a few months later he committed suicide.

About Wilna

I am a Garden Route based artist interrested in line and colour and the reflection of light on everyday objects and I love to play around with different medias. I recently discover that oil paint is such a forgiving medium to work with and it made me free to explore new techniques and challenge me to new heights.
I grew up on a Free State farm and my nights as a little girl were filled with lovely family time around the kitchen table and that is where I developed my love for drawing fascinated by the shadows of candlelight and oil lamps on everything that surrounds us.
