he aftermath of a cold front and the setting sun glows through the clearing with the Slangkop lighthouse standing a lonely vigil. There is something symbolic for the artist: a lonely light beacon beams into the vastness of the ocean, warning of the treacherous coastline ; analogous to this is the fragility and (possible?) uniqueness of life on Earth - a solitary beacon trying to make contact ?

About Casey

Born in March 1970, the artistic career of Casey started at a young age under the shadow of his great grandfather Tinus de Jongh, and it was only natural that he would be influenced by his Dutch heritage. Being fully self-taught, he continues to pursue his own expressive interests and his artistic progression is drawn from personal life experiences and those of the lives and works of ground breaking Western artists.
