About "Three Egrets"
I live across the road from the Zandvlei Wetlands Conservancy area. I love to walk or canoe through this area, and sometimes, of course, my camera accompanies me.
This late afternoon was very cloudy and the bird life was particularly active. I had been photographing some arum lilies, when something made me look up and I saw these three egrets - three light shapes on a light background. These are not birds that usually fly together, let alone in formation, so this alone makes this an unusual shot.
I've further worked with the image to emphasise the strong monochrome minimalism of this image. I hope you like it as much as I do.

About Robin
Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father has a photograph of me, at age 3, taking a photograph of him. In high school I discovered that photography and a camera confidently wielded, provided access to people & places that might otherwise have been out of reach.
However, what fascinated me from the very beginning, was that I could capture moments in time, manipulate them, and turn them into art. Digital photography and editing has of course opened previously unimagined possibilities in this regard. The digital age has forever changed what it means to be a photographer. Photography now includes not only 'pure' photographic images, straight from the camera, but also digital imaging art, using photographs as a starting point and framework for new artistic, photographic possibilities.
I believe that photography is art if it is treated as such. I believe that art requires constant experimentation, learning and pushing of boundaries. I believe that creativity and its appreciation is a basic function of humanity. I don't believe in limiting myself to any one style or aspect of my art.
