About Lindie

Lindie Bross

South African born Lindie, now lives in Pennsylvania, USA, where she continues to create art from the heart when she is not being a mom to her children, Samuel and Carla, or busy with her career as an occupational therapist. The following short essay-interview titled "LIFE AND ART", depicts some of her thoughts around being an artist.

What happens when I am painting? Where does a painting start? From the heart or the mind or collective consciousness? Is it inspired by the self or external energy? How do you answer these questions?

I am an artist: to me this means more than creating a tangible work. The hours in between, when I'm not holding a brush, am I then an artist too? I create ideas and images in my mind when I'm awake and sleeping. The work of art is the kinesthetic and visible result. What is most important? The creative process or the result? This is by no means a novel question. I think perhaps more importantly is the question of what the viewer thinks and feels when looking at something that I have created. To me, expressing anything through the means of visual art methods is an inevitalbe part of the journey, of everything I feel, see, think, dream of and believe.
