About Julia

Julia is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I live and work from my studio at home in Durban. Being inspired by contrasts in colour and light and shade,my work is bright and colourful.
I find my paintings change constantly as I play with new ideas and the spectrum of colour we are so fortunate to see.

Of late my work is centering around figures, representing them in a more abstract form. I strive constantly to capture the essence of the subject rather than every realistic minute detail.
I love this style as it is produced by passion and emotion...the paint and the brush directing the humble artist!
