Anne-Mari Burger - "Boabab"
Pen and Ink
W: 250mm x H: 200mm x D: 20mm
Approx. Weight: 0.2kg
This work is framed (but can be supplied either framed or unframed)
I prepare the canvas with a texture and an acrylic stain. This particular canvas accomodated the shape and texture of the boabab bark. I enjoy drawing trees with a dip pen.
When I create I am in my happy space. Indigenous plants, especially those endemic to the Eastern Cape, always feature in my work. I think my ancestors where trees. I tend to work much more in mixed media lately. Drawings are becoming more prolific than paintings.
