About Susan

Susan Ellis

I was born on the last day of 1970 in the beautifull town of Stellenbosch and grew up in Bellville.
I absolutely love to paint. I love the variety and excitement and all the new things I can learn and capture on canvas and I feel I am able to express myself through my work.
I have sold many of my works, mainly directly to clients as well as overseas.
I am a wife and mother of my son . I love to cook and be creative in the kitchen. I love nature and it's beauty. To paint is to have the opportunity to capture people, their movement , deep emotion and all the beauty of our world.

I am a very versatile artist and paint mainly with big brush strokes and enjoy working with a palette knife . I mainly work in Acrylics and Acrylic-and Charcoal combination as well as mixed Media.
My work captures energy and emotion, thus I love to do portraits and figures and people moving . I love to do landscapes and Wild Life , which on the other side captures my love for travel, nature and animals.
I enjoy to learn from different people and cultures. I love our own country and its beauty , its people. I have done a few paintings of Mandela's and feel I am able to capture his heart in my art. My mission is to do more. I feel people will have a better understanding if they truly understand what his vision was for our country, namely freedom and peace.
My dream is that my art will fill up peoples houses and warm up there hearts and homes
