Lindie lives in Jeffreys Bay with her husband, Barry, and their two young children Sam and Carla. The following short essay-interview titled "LIFE AND ART", depicts some of her thoughts around being an artist.

What happens when I am painting? Where does a painting start? From the heart or the mind or the collective consciousness? Is it inspired by the self or external energy? How do you answer these questions?

I am an artist: to me this means much more than creating the ultimate and tangible work. The hours in between, when I'm not holding a brush, am I not then an artist too? I create ideas and images in my mind when I'm awake and asleep. The work of art is the kinesthetic and visible result. What is most important? The creative process or the result, and this is by no means a novel question. I think perhaps more important is the question of what you think and feel when you look at something that I have created. Does it stir something inside you? To me, expressing anything through the means of visual art methods is the inevitalbe part of the journey, of everything I feel, see, think, dream of and believe.
