About Jacqueline
Jacqueline is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa. When I was 10, my father moved our family from Scotland to South Africa. This move and the country itself has been a defining influence on both my life, and my art. I attended the Pretoria School of Art, Ballet and Music (now Pro Arte). After working in the field of computer graphics for the printing industry I returned to the Fine Arts to study at Unisa. I also taught Art at St Thomas Aquinas School in South Africa along with private classes in my own studio. My work has several underlying tones; mythological, erotic, psychological, phantasy/fantasy, dreamscape. My themes - eroticism, identity, sexuality, seduction, jouissance, desire, mythology, power, anima/animus. Central themes that influence my thought processes are; my interest in Jung's Animus principle, the San reality of the therianthrope and the human mystery of eroticism.
