About Joanna

Joanna is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. I was blessed to have spent much of my childhood in two of South Africa's most beautiful provinces, namely KwaZulu Natal and the Western Cape. I have a deep love for Africa and thus I am inspired by a variety of African scenes and people.

I have a great passion for art and have been creating and painting since a very young age (for as long as I can remember). It is as if I never really started painting, rather it has always been an intrinsic part of me.

I am a self-taught artist. I enjoy painting in many mediums; I love texture and exploring the effects of chunky brush strokes and thick paint on canvas. I play in a range of earth shades, ochers, bold blues, reds and oranges.
