After being forcibly evicted from our farm in Zimbabwe I realised that there are so many things disappearing before our eyes and things we took for granted in our childhood were fast disappearing. I therefore wanted to capture those things I see around me in as much detail as possible before the scrap metal merchants or poachers leave nothing for our children so that is why I paint wildlife with the full focus on the animals because once they are gone we are only left with scenery. This also pertains to the old cars, tractors and farm implements which used to lie around the farmyards and which we all climbed over as children. I am hoping my images will evoke a feeling of nostalgia and 'the good old days'.
