About Jeni

Jeni is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Born in the wilds of Zambia in 1960, I developed a deep passion for the outdoors, wildlife and solitude. My father was an adventurist and my mother and I accompanied him on many excursions into the Kafue and the Luangwa Valley, which left me in sheer awe of nature’s beauty. It is a time of my life that has influenced my entire thinking and instilled in me a need to remember what I have seen by capturing those images on canvas. In that way, I can share those moments with others, despite the fact that times and places have changed.

After many years of working in a corporate environment, I decided to resign and find myself again. I started a mural/trompe l’oeil business, which kept me busy for fifteen years, travelling all over South Africa, then battled cancer for two years and won. Another special moment in time....

I now live at Sundays River in the Eastern Cape, next to the Addo Elephant National Park, where I paint endlessly. Few people have lived such an exciting, adventurous and challenging life - the time to record it is now. If I am able to capture some of my memories and find that others are drawn to those paintings through their very essence, I will have shared my blessing. I am a qualified game ranger and even though I have not used that knowledge for employment, I am told that my knowledge gives my wildlife paintings life - an innate understanding of each animal I paint.
I strive for perfection as I record my memories. Every brush stroke is a record of one moment in time.
