ABOUT CLAERHOUT SILKSCREENS: DONE ON 140 gram DUKUSA PAPER

Numbered editions : Although some of Claerhout’s works are not numbered, they are still limited edition and hand printed, authorized by the artist (waw they are all legal prints from the artist) and signed in pencil by Claerhout personally. The original silkscreens were destroyed. No new prints can be made. Gregoire Boonzaier, Pierneef, Claerhout and Wolf Kibel are only 4 of many artists who did not number their whole range. All of these artists have numbered editions which were done on commission.



These works were published in "MORWA WA LERTO" by Chris Spies, published in 1992. MORWA WA LERATO means 'passionate person' in South Sotho, people to whom he dedicated his life in missionary work. Another book will be published in 2007 about Claerhout‘s original graphic works. These works were already photographed and will be featured in this book as well. The publisher and Claerhout worked for 2 years on this publication. Research was completed at the end of 2005 and the technical side is now being finalized.
