About "Jette"
A cooking channel on TV inspired a series of photographs that I have called "Infusions". The photographs are taken as different colours mix in water. From a scientific perspective this is called "Brownian Motion"; from an artistic perspective the images are breathtakingly graceful and evocative. This particular image evoked an image of a ballet dancer.

About Nadine
Nadine Lewis was born in Johannesburg in 1961. At 12 years old, she started formal classes with the late Bill Ainslie, and also studied art at high school.
The time spent with Bill Ainslie and his teachers at what became the Johannesburg Art Foundation had a profound influence on Nadine’s work and her outlook on art. Bill’s style of teaching promoted freedom of expression, self-exploration and innovation, all in stark contrast to the then Transvaal Education Department.
After finishing high school with an exemplary matric (4 distinctions but only a “B” for Art), and contrary to Bill’s advice, Nadine “strayed” and chose to be “pragmatic”. She completed a BSc at Wits, and taught maths and science for 3 years, and then ventured into the computer industry for nearly 6 years.
The corporate world seduced her next and she completed an MBA and for the next 12 years worked in management consultancy and project management. In the early part of this period she ran her own business, before joining the Absa group for 7½ years.
During all this time, her art was done part-time, with occasional periods of formal art classes; most notably studying with Miriam Stern in 2002 – 2003.
It was only in her mid-forties, that she “steadied her ship” and left the corporate world to re-kindle the magic she had discovered as a young girl.
