About Jane

Jane Hoskyn

Jane is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Jane Hoskyn studied Fine Art, majoring in sculpture, at Rhodes University before teaching Art in the Eastern Cape. She spent several years heading up the video production unit of the Western Cape Education Department before joining Parklands College, where she is on the management team and Head of the Art Department.
Jane enjoys painting portraits of children and adults, captured in spontaneous and joyous moments in time. She works from good quality, high contrast photographs that "speak" to her.

Jane is inspired by joyous events and personal relationships, as well as the texture and reduction of subtle landscapes.
