About "Radiotjie"
This is an artist friend's radio. It goes with him into the garden, everywhere, quietly sharing it's news. This day it broadcast a particularly sombre radio-story, and myself not being used to this, was quite moved.

About Niel
Niel is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.
Niël Jonker
A prolific artist, practicing both painting and sculpture from his studio in the remote cape hamlet of Baardskeerdersbos near the rugged south west coast.
The small landscape panels are painted in situ, capturing an added vitality of working direct from life. An irreverent approach to subjects leads to novel compositional solutions, as if caught from the corner of one’s eye. Niël Jonker's painting work remains a valuable contribution to contemporary cape impressionism.
Niël's rare editions of bronze figures and animals are bound by a momentary pause in time, lending them a graceful and timeless quality. Released in 2009, this cohesive body of sculptures represents another successive moment in the progress of a most promising artist.
