Anna Maria is one of my favoured aunts who lives in Buia, Province of Friuli - northern Italy. (My favourite aunt lives in Venice!)

September 1998 saw a worldwide family reunion in Rome, which included an audience with the Pope. The photograph from which I painted Anna Maria's portrait was taken at the Vatican.

I love this painting.. to me it embodies the refinement she epitomises of the well to do, sophisticated though country. A very loving and giving person and still an incredibly beautiful woman, it brings through her beauty of yesteryear.
