My heart paints for the glory of the Lord. As we come alive in Him it is like a desert awakening. In this painting as these yellow spring Irises of Namaqualand seem to be moving toward the rapturous horizon so we are on the journey to the Glory.

Anne Maria is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Anne Maria Hansen, painting under the name of Valimaki (maiden name from Finland) moved to sunny South Africa after graduating as an engineer. This beautiful country has been her home for over 30 years.
As a born again Christian Anne Maria paints for the glory of God.
After a ten year break in 2004 she made her bold return to the palette, splashing sumptuous strokes with renewed energy and breathless passion that has become her trademark.
The unlikely colors and textures of dreams and the landscapes of the Namaqualand come together in a portfolio that expresses the ravishing beauty and thrill of a desert wakening.
Isaiah 35: "And the dry land shall rejoice and blossom" has always been the source of her inspiration.
The appeal of Anne Maria's art lies in its disdain for precision and proportion and in the guileless naivety that works like strawberries and cream for the eyes and shouts CELEBRATE!
