About "The Farm"

The small holder farms in my rural vilage in Honde Valley are a sight I always think of even when I am in lands afar. When I paint them I feel close to home, it might be far but its there always in our minds!

About Biggie

Biggie Samwanda

I am inspired by the innocence of rural areas, that crudeness in the ghetto
The bright lights and sometimes the not so bright life cast in long shadows
The sweetness, that suffering and the spirituality
The momentous celebrations, that peace and that loving
All the emotions involved, all those questions you and I ask on things around us
So as I paint, I float afar and yonder
Sometimes I scream, I whisper, I sing onto the canvas
Sometimes I chant as I get charmed by the forms around me,
The people and wildlife, the land, sea and sky scapes, nature!
In conspiracy with colours and the canvas
I say that which in words I stutter but could mirror in the backyard sand since childhood!
