About Annie

Annie Pigott

Annie is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Annie Pigott studied both Graphic design majoring in children's book illustration) and Textile design, resulting in her decision to use Silk Painting as a Fine Art medium. She uses seven specialised techniques in her Silk Paintings. Later on in her career she trained in Oils, Tempera and Water Colours. She welcomes commissions from Architects and Interior Decorators as well as private homes.

Exhibitions

1986... First solo exhibition in Germany.
1987... "Fantasy On Fabric" Extremely successful.
1988... "The Four Seasons" Mixed Media exhibition.
1990... Huge commission to paint 20 Silk Paintings for the Marine Hotel in Port Elizabeth.
1993... Commissioned to paint 102 paintings for the Tulbach Protea Hotel in Cape Town.
1999... Visited Brussels to study Oil Painting by the Old Masters, and she exhibited and taught Japanese children to paint on silk.
2000... Lived for one year on the beautiful Island of Sicily, Italy.
