About "Still Life with Brass and Delft"

Having acquired quite a few Delft ware pieces over the years, I just had do paint one of my favourite pieces.I combined it with some brass objects to create a quiet scene, using earthy colours.(Weight is UNframed weight)

About Annette

Annette Solomon

Annette Solomon was born in the Western Cape. She spent the past 30 years in Gauteng where she started painting 10 years ago. She obtained certificates from both the Millard School of Art and Rika de Klerk Art Studio, after successfully completing various art courses.

In Johannesburg she took part in a number of group exhibitions and her works were on display and sold at Fine Arts and Framing and Go-Ra Art Gallery in Johannesburg.

Annette moved to Vermont in 2004, where she attended classes at the Station Gallery. She also studied at the Shelley Adams Art Centre in Hermanus.

She works in oil paint and/or acrylics and concentrates mainly on flower studies, although she enjoys painting landscapes.

She has recently started painting abstract works, which have proved to be very popular with art buyers.

She is currently chairperson of the Vermont Art Circle and has successfully taken part in a number of group exhibitions with the other members.

Her more recent works are on display at Gallery La Marey, Shop 1 Marine Square, Mitchell Street, Hermanus, at Hermanus Tourism Bureau, Mitchell Street, Hermanus, at Hermanus Interiors, 157 Main Road, Hermanus, and at What the Dickens Restaurant,The Trading Post, Vermont. She will gladly undertake commissions.
