I live and paint in one of the most beautiful surroundings on earth, a farm in the Cape Overberg. A unique floral kingdom with landscapes that stretch forever and a magnificent coast line. My closest settlement is a hamlet with a fascinating history, ancient clay brick dwellings and a community made up of many of the decendants of the original settlers ... What more could an artist ask for inspiration. My challenge is to translate the character and emotion, the rough and the smooth into vibrant contempory brushwork. I enjoy the experience.
