About "Alter-ego"
The standard convention would be to view this beautiful flower from the front…with the expectation or belief that the flower is most beautiful viewed from the side we normally do. However – this painting portrays the opposite to be true…that the flower is AS beautiful from the ALTERnative side. The same theory could also be transposed into humans… The alter-ego (the hidden characteristics) are often AS beautiful as the known – if only we would break from tradition and look at people from all sides.

About Heine
Heine is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.
Unexpectedly – at the age of 46 – Heiné awakened to expressing his creativity within!
Heiné discovered his latent talent as a visual artist while he was “playing” on a tiny canvas and some acrylic paint, which a friend presented him as a gift. The friend (a Creativity Coach) saw the quiescent gift in Heiné and encouraged him to experiment. Embracing this wonderful new talent, Heiné promptly finished that first painting, moved on to larger paintings and has not stopped since.
Heiné’s art technique improved notably when he joined an amateur-artists group, tutored by a professional art teacher. While displaying huge courage by exploring his newfound talent, he is experimenting with various styles, subjects and mediums. While using acrylic-paint exclusively, many experienced artists marvel at Heiné’s ability to use paint in a way that it resembles oil-paint.
This culminated in Heiné already selling paintings at his very first group art exhibition. Heiné’s paintings are in great demand and some of his paintings and commissioned artwork are proudly displayed by owners across South Africa and even as far as in Europe and Canada.
One additional “medium” he uses to express his creativity, is with the Japanese art of Bonsai. By sculpting these miniature and at times very old trees, he focuses more on the art of form, perspective and balance; rather than concentrating on the horticultural aspect of the trees. Heiné’s ever-growing (pun intended) collection of more than 30 bonsai attests to his passion for beauty. He is a noted speaker on radio-shows and shares his passion and knowledge with people across the country. Heiné is based in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town where he lives with his partner and their two cats.
