About "Farmhouse Gamkaskloof (The Hell)"

An isolated society existed in the Gamkaskloof, also called "The Hell", a valley in the Swartberg mountains until the 1960's. Then a road was built into the valley and it could be reached by car. This is a typical farmhouse where the members of that society lived in. All building material was local and what was not available had to be carried down the steep mountain slope.

ARTIST DIED 2 APRIL 2012

I had an interest in art since a young age.As a schoolboy I had art classes from Ms Delia Rovatti and later from Otto Klar. The beauty around us makes me want to capture it in a painting. I have a rather eclectic range of subjects ranging from mainly landscapes to flowers, buildings, animals and birds, cars and motorcycles. I was invited to take part in the 2011 Florence Biennale but cannot take part due to a lack of money.
