This is one of ten works that were displayed at the 2009 'Afrikaanse Woordfees ' in Stellenbosch. It forms part of a group of minuture mixed media paintings illustrating a poem [Transfigurasie] by Dr. Lukas Malan.

I have always been intrigued by textures in painting and all my oil painting works are rich in tactile texture, sometimes built up with acrylic base, resin, wood shavings, glues, oxides, etc. Traditional African sculptures [of which I have plenty in my collection] are amongst my favorite subject matter.
