Lyndrea Joy is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa. I am a self taught artist that has gained experience and inspiration from many artists, books and nature. Born in 1939, in South Africa, my family moved to Zimbabwe and later in life after marrying and raising three children, my love for art became a reality. Much of my early adult life, whilst raising my family, was in the wonderful country side in the beauty that Zimbabwe has to offer. It was living on a forestry estate in the eastern highlands when my art really took off. I started painting the lovely ruggered country scenes in oils. Inspired by the stillness and mystery of the dark forests my interest in children's stories began that I illustrated with water colors. These capture the imagination and have drawn much interest from friends and family. As my confidence grew, I started painting another love of my life, the ocean and sailing ships, some of which became my best works. My love for painting comes from within and the many creations of God's wonders. Price Range US$72-1,685 Exhibitions A few local town markets and selected retirement villages within South Africa have displayed my art. Some of my children’s stories and illustrations are currently being negotiated with publishing houses with the view of creating books for publication. Interest has also been expressed in illustrations for calendars, book borders and cards that are also available. Recommend this Work!
