This is a surrealistic painting in which i capture the feeling of helpnessness. A croucing figure with hollow eyes in a close fitting space.The pale,dull blue and yellow colours emphasize the feeling.

Elsa Oosthuizen

Elsa is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I prefer working with oil on canvas and create my art work mainly from my imagination without a lot of preparation. By doing so, I replace my emotions with form, line and colour, spontaneous from the hart and without much realism.
I was also greatly inspired by artists such as Van Gogh, Eduard Munch and Picasso.

- 2005: "Ou Vrouens" was chosen as one of 100 finalists from
all over South Africa for the Sasol New Signatures competition where it was thereafter exibited for 3 months in the Pretoria Art Gallery.
- "Till death us do part" was selected as one of 100 finalists throughout Sout Africa in die Vuleka art competition sponsord by Sanlam
- I'm planning on having a solo exibition in August 2010
