In this painting I potrayed friends. I used blue because it is a cool calming colour, just as friends are to me.

Michelle Moon is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

My name is Michelle Moon Oliver I am a “young” South African (Johannesburg, Gauteng) artist known for my ability to work with just about any art medium. I fell in love with drawing and painting as a young girl. My mother “Billie” is also a popular local artist and has been my inspiration from a young age. In the last few years of my life, my husband “David” has given me the inspiration to pursue my passion and spend more time with my art. I also get a lot inspiration from contemporary life and the interesting people that share this world with me. I love working with a variety of mediums, depending on my mood of the day and what I think will bring emotion to my picture/painting. I work with passion and love every moment of it.
After a long break, I started painting again in 2004 and have not stopped since then. I have had no formal art training until 2009 when I joined an art class with Laura Behrmann and I have had the privilege learning from her expertise and guidance ever since then.
I have done numerous commission works for friends and family, these commissions included portrait work and large scale wild life paintings for a game farm in the Limpopo province.
My varied portfolio will indicate my ability to create quality works with a wide range of mediums covering many different genres from surrealism to detailed photo like portraits.
