Matthew Calitz

Matthew is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

The human condition is what most inspires me; visually I am moved most by the human form, the ocean and mountains. My inbuilt creative quality aroused a desire to begin drawing and sketching from a young age but financial constraints resulted in my education in art coming to me through observation of others methods. I have always pursued my art simply as an uncontrollable need to create and only recently decided to begin producing works to sell. I am currently working in the studio under the mentorship of Paul Munro, a well known South African landscape artist.
