About Johan

Johan van Staden

Johan is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

At PRESENT I am a Tattoo Artist, Fine artist
I started playing with paint and clay early like most people but just never stopped. I was born in Kemptonpark on 13 Feb 1974. Moved to Nelspruit, Middelburg then Pietersburg. At about six a family friend and wildlife artist (Willie Venter) handed me a canvas, bag full of oil paints, specula (the artist type)and said paint a lion.....I still have it somewhere, and a sunset over the sea I painted out of my head after working from a photo became tiresome.
From there my life has always depended on creativity. Backdrop artist, mural artist, airbrush artist, scenic artist, tattoo designer, prop maker, interior decorator.
After my return from Philippines this year I decided that it’s time for me to paint much more and I am. I think the powers that be has created The wave that we must ride. Art is what I do and I hope you can enjoy it with me.
