I visited the artist gallery on the artist farm (West Coast of Canada) and was so inspired by his beautiful garden. With his permission I took lots of photos and could not wait to get home to start painting.

About Louisa

My inspiration comes from the beauty surrounding me all day long. Our Creator equipped us with creativity, we only need to discover it. I hardly ever leave home without my camera. When I paint I enjoy painting from my heart and therefor I prefer to use my own photo references.

I worked and lived for many years in Vancouver on the West coast of Canada, and now returned to beautiful Cape Town on the West coast of South Africa. Both these cities are on the list of the most beautiful places on earth. There are so many subject matters to be painted that one lifetime is not enough.
During my last year in Canada I started with plein-air painting and found this to be an extreme challenge, but very rewarding as it opened my eyes to colors that cannot be seen in photographs.

I am very privileged to say that I took lessons from highly acclaimed and talented artists of various countries such as: Canada, Holland, New Zealand, South Africa, and Russia.
When the viewer finds joy in my paintings, I know it is worth following this ever changing and growing journey. Hopefully one of my paintings will find a special place in your home.
