Julie is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa. Over the years I have tried various creative avenues including part time sculpture classes with Anton Momberg in 1980, who was a great inspiration to me and from whom I learnt how to appreciate the human form. I also attended sculpture classes with David Jones in 1998. Sheila Walton first taught me basic painting skills in 1990 and later Rina Badenhorst in 1995. After a long break from painting I have returned to the easel in the last few years with a lot of enthusiasm. I enjoy the traditional style and detailed patterns of Byzantine icons, but I also enjoy the freedom of expression of abstract.
