About Joanne

Joanne Snell

Joanne is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Joanne was born in Pretoria in 1966 and moved to Springs on the East Rand shortly thereafter. She studied art at school where she developed an intense passion for the subject.
Joanne then spent 10 years studying Fine Arts privately through Laura Behrmann and has also completed a course on “The Art of Teaching Art”. In between working on her own art Joanne takes great pleasure in teaching art to children.
Joanne is a versatile artist working in Coloured pencil, Oil Pastel, Soft Pastel, Acrylics, Oil Paints and Mixed Medium. She works on numerous artworks at any given time, finding it difficult to single out any subject matter as her favourite. Her subjects range from wildlife to people, particularly African people, and landscapes.
Through the diversity of her mediums and subject matter Joanne has sold many Artworks and has undertaken numerous commissions locally as well as internationally.
