Annaliese Scholtemeyer

Annaliese is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

The world we live in, life, creation is infinitely fascinating and beautiful. Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a compelling urge to create and express- albeit not in words (they always seem to elude me). There is no greater satisfaction, for me, than to express my feelings and observations on canvas.
To share a delightful feeling, thought or idea, makes the experience profoundly more gratifying and meaningful.
After school, I enrolled in the Art School at Pretoria Technikon, but only for a brief period of time. In that particular phase of my life, I found human behavior to be more intriguing. I thus proceeded to study social work at the University of Pretoria.
Animals are another passion in my life. Growing up on a farm, I have learned to recognize and appreciate the wonder of their beautiful spirits, from an early age.
I choose to see and reflect the beauty in all things. There is always beauty all around us, even amidst hardship, trouble and turmoil, as stated by Dean Koontz (2010): “within every chaos…is an eerie order waiting to be revealed”. I believe that God commands the organizing principle of the universe. It becomes apparent that evil is unnatural and transient, when we open our minds and our souls to the beauty this world has to offer.

I exhibit the paintings I treasure the most, those which are difficult to part with, in my house. Otherwise, I mostly paint on commission. I enjoy painting portraits and people's pets.
