About Dave

Dave Croad

Dave is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Dave was born and grew up in South Africa, mainly in Johannesburg and in the Kwazulu-Natal midlands, where he developed my love of the beautiful rolling landscapes so characteristic of that area. Although he never studied art in any formal institution, his passion has always been drawing and painting. Dave is now a full-time professional artist.

Originally only a watercolourist, Dave now works in both oils and watercolour, with occasional use of other mediums depending on the subject and effects required.

Dave's subject matter comprises mainly South African landscapes and seascapes, interspersed with some still life and figure studies. He feels his love of colour and composition shines through in his work, as does his passion for South Africa with all its contrasts and diversity.
