About "Farmer with buckets"

This is part of a series of four paintings. I was mostly inspired by the hardworking figures in a farming environment. This series focuses on the male figure rather then the background setting, but one can still place him in a farming environment by looking at small elements such as his clothing, coloration in the background as well as the labor element which in this case; carrying water buckets.

Mariska is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I am inspired by people, and their different ways of thinking. I listen, accumulate and then I paint.

I believe that an artist can be a teacher and student at the same time, you just have to be open to the possibility...you can than make beautiful art by allowing yourself to listen and be taught.

I am a 28 year old artist who enjoys various means of art forms ranging from conceptual mixed media sculpture to commercial oil and acrylic painting.

I love to observe people and their ways and therefore my interest lies in figure and portrait painting and drawing.
