About "Mandela's Gold Roses"

I love painting glass and water with sunlight reflecting through it...it just feels so happy. Although "Mandela's Gold" is the name of a Strelitzia, not a rose, I just felt this the appropriate name for these gorgeous yellow roses.

Watercolours is my escape from my everyday world...a place where I can dream. I love the flow and translucency of the medium as well as the juxtaposition of control, but no control with the water. The fact that you never quite know what the outcome is going to be. All sorts of categories fascinate me and I enjoy trying different subjects...it stretches the mind and makes you think. Colour affects the mood and I love playing and contrasting it, sometimes on the same subject, just to see the different results and feel.

All my works are originals. They are not available as prints, nor do I mass produce them. Buy them if they "speak" to you and the light shines from them.
