About Adriana

Adriana Scholtz

Adriana is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Adriana works from her studio in Stellenbosch. In 2000 she has obtained a Bachelors Fine Art Ed degree at the University of Stellenbosch. Since then she teaches art classes for children and adults and loves promoting artistic and creative sensibilities.

Her mixed media oil paintings speak of an interest in the inner lives of people, the spiritual journey we take. From there the often closed eyes in her portraits and the symbolic use of visual imagery. The viewer is drawn into a world of story, playing off in our dreams and subconscious minds. The detailed work is layered with textures of colour and pattern and speaks both of original thought and artistic ability.
