About Lara

Lara is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Lara Mellon lives in Durban, South Africa and works out of her home studio in Durban North, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

She first exhibited exhibited in 2002 in her home town. In 2008 and 2009 she exhibited in London and Berlin.

Her work continuously shifts between the traditional medium of oil on canvas, and mixed media, collage and assembly.

Her work is sweeping, expressive and often conveys a nostalgia or sense of drama (possibly why others describe the style as ‘Turner-esque').
