What informs my work?
Painting is a PASSION for me as it gives me a sense of self-worth, enjoyment, HAPPINESS and PLEASURE and I trust that you, as a buyer will experience this as well.
My story and why I took up art:
ABOUT 10 years ago, my only child, Linton, died SUDDENLY at the age of 30 of a heart defect which we never knew about. It was such a great shock to me. I was absolutely traumatized and heartbroken. Because I am a woman of faith, I trusted the Lord to be my comfort and strength. Four years ago whilst I was browsing around in an Art shop, I saw an advert in the window advertising “Paint Classes”…. I just knew that this was for me.
This advert brought so many happy and wonderful memories back to me of the time when I was a young girl, my friend and I used to enjoy drawing a lot. Today she is a famous artist in SA. I felt confident that I could do this. I phoned and made arrangements to take up Art Classes.
I am very grateful to my teachers for sharing their expertise and for having a lot of patience with me. When painting in silence my thoughts often wonder all over the world to where my precious family and friends are…I FIND IT MOST RELAXING!
My PASSION for art and painting has been so therapeutic for me and has helped my broken heart to heal. I thank God for bringing this incredible opportunity across my path.
What is your PASSION? Don’t delay, be strong, take a chance and just do it! It worked for me.
