Leopard is the most difficult to paint. The magic of the spotted skin is the muse. I feel the demand to paint leopard!

About Wietske

Wietske Smit

Wietske is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

As the daughter of a early pioneer to Zambia, Wietske was born in the early fifties in Zambia where her love for wild animals started .
She is currenly living in the pristeine bushveld of Mphumalanga near Loskop Dam.

She has been painting wildlife for 27 years., and prefer to do oil on canvas.
She produced inexess of 3000 works ,mainly for commissions, lodges ,game farmers, hunters and collectors.
She made her mark by doing the “Big Five”, however she loves to paint any animal.

She takes every opportunity to visit game farms, game reserves and studies her subject
thoroughly. She is a very keen photographer and enjoys being a wildlife artist.
