About TrygVe

TrygVe is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

TrygVe Skorge was born in Gothemborg, Sweden, to a German mother and a Norwegian father. He spent his early childhood in Sweden and has since lived in Cape Town, Tanzania, Namibia and Germany but the call of Africa has always sounded loudly in his heart and he has returned time and time again to her bountiful beauty and vastly different landscapes.

The beauty of people and their surroundings fascinates TrygVe. The mixed cultural roots of African people have inspired and captivated him since he first came from Germany to South Africa as a teenager in 1975. TygVe aim is to create pictures with a timeless quality, pictures that could have been taken yesterday or one hundred years ago.

He finds that the beauty of black and white photography is its ability to capture the true character of its subject. His passion for Expressionism may stem from his Nordic roots and the surreal flavour of his work is perhaps a result of his voyages through the Namibian desert.
