About "Faith"

To me my faith is the most important, and I felt a great urge to express this on canvas. The day I did this, it all just came together. The back ground was WOW, without any paint on it. When painting even the colors that I use is part of the statement I make. Not only has each symbol a meaning, so does every color, and as With God's creation they just flow together in something awesome.
Faith in the Father Son and Holy Ghost as small as a mustard seed (mustard tree) will make you part of the great grapevine. Jesus was crucified for us, making us all part of His love in a family of Christians across the world.
Daisy - The daisy is a late symbol of the innocence of the Christ Child.
Anemone - Used in the early church as a symbol of the Trinity. Used in art as a symbol of sorrow and death. Often seen in scenes of the Crucifixion.
Fern - Because it conceals its beauty in the depths of the forest, the fern represents humility in solitude.
Grape - Grapes represent the blood of Christ, especially in references to the Eucharist. A vineyard represents the mission field, and grapes in this association may signify good works. A grape vine is a reference to Christ. A symbol of Christ, the True Vine. The vine is sometimes used to represent the relationship between God and His people. It may also refer to God's providence and heavenly care.
Columbine - Thought by some to look like a dove, the columbine is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The name comes from the Latin columba, which means "dove." Seven blooms on a stalk represent the seven gifts of the Spirit.
Lily - The lily symbolizes purity. It is the primary attribute of the Virgin Mary.
Passion Flower - The main flower that means a lot in the Christian religion is the passion flower. This flower is mainly a symbol of Jesus’ scourging, crowning with thorns and crucifixion. Every part of this flower has some type of meaning. The spiraled tendrils symbolize the lash of Christ’s scourging. The central flower column is a symbol of the pillar of the Scourging. The 72 radial filaments is a symbol of the Crown of Thorns. The top three stigmas symbolize the three nails. The lower five anthers symbolize the five wounds. The Style represents the Sponge used to moisten Christ’s lips with vinegar. The leaves and some species represent the head of the Centurion’s Spear. The red stains represent Christ’s blood drops. The round fruit represents the world Christ came to save. The Fragrance symbolizes the spices prepared by the Holy women. This flower gives specific reasons and visualizations to the Christian faith. It provides a visual meaning to the teachings of the Gospel story and the eras where there were no printed catechisms. The passion flower has a number of symbols found in flowers individually other religions and traditions (John S. Strokes Jr.).
Corn - Resembles new life; It is sown in the ground, basically buried, and then begins a new life when it emerges from its “grave”

About Lenten

Lenten der Mond

I want to create a sense of scrutiny and inquisitiveness, for the spectator to think outside the box, to detect more than the depiction in front of him. I crave to connect to people in a divine manner, to make way to self discovery while exploring beyond the palpable.

My first painting was done in 2012, imminent from a dream. I always loved to draw and fooling around with material paint, but never gave thought of doing it on canvas - or if I am honest to myself.....Had the guts to do so

My inspiration is an emotional response to what I experience in life. By directing it on canvas I am able to portray what I experience to a more universal language. I find symbolism a great tool to portray my inner feelings, and yet it still enables me to disguise the harshness of some emotions.

The symbolism of color as well as the objects used in all the portraits' enhance the meaning beyond the palpable, and only after realising what the true meaning are, beyond what you see, you will be able to understand the intrigue in the true objective.

Every canvas I do is based on a specific person, or life experience. While I was discovering what I wanted to do, I distanced myself from the portraits, selecting other people to be represented. I looked at famous people, and rather portrayed them, than showing myself. It was only when I became more relaxed and gained more confidence that I was willing to bring it closer to home.
