About "The Key (Aka Matrix of Leadership)"

This piece is made from a piece of the dried root of an Pepper Tree. It is called "The Key" because the shape reminded me of the "Matrix of Leadership" from the movie Transformers.

This piece is meant for a desk, side table or mantle place, and would make a lovely conversation piece (Even if you do not know Transformers..) due to its shape, natural colours and textures.

The one side has the natural root texture ,but slightly smoother, with its natural dark colour and the other is smooth and silky, and lighter of colour.

This piece also makes me think of the different sides of ourselves we need to exhibit in different environments.

Feel free to contact me for more photos of piece.

About Jaco

Jaco Kruger

I live in Centurion South-Africa with my beautiful wifey (and 2 very loveable kitties). Why do I do art? Because it helps me to express myself in ways words seem to fail in.

I believe that art is firstly an emotional experience. With my art I strive to trigger an emotional response in the observer, because the emotions triggered stays with us much longer than the intellectual experience of a piece of art.

When looking at a piece, your first question - as far as I am concerned - should always be, how does this piece of art make me feel?

I do abstract art, as it has much more potential to mean different things to different observers.
