About "Rage of the Weekend Warrior"

The modern male occupies a body designed for physical exertion and toil. From defending the clan, expanding the territory to tilling the soil, carpentry, engineering works and raising a family the physique is geared for the physical.

Yet society demands a law abiding, intellectual worker that sublimates all that energy, ambition and aggression into civilised pursuits.

Weekend sports, endurance pursuits, DIY, gardening, hunting and other physical activities play a role. Any excess aggression is allayed through alcohol, drugs, illegal activities, etc.

At times the frustration arising from the dissonance between societal expectations and the physique roils into a eruption of rage, red hot and animalistic.

The feeling is best represented by the fiery rage seeping out of every pore and the lion's the weekend warrior gives into at times.
