About Kirshia

Kirshia Gounden

Kirshia Gounden was born in Rustenburg, South Africa in 1990 and grew up in Magaliesburg. Since her early childhood, she has been fascinated with art. The privilege of growing up in one of the most beautiful and tranquil settings in the Country has contributed to her love of landscape painting. Gounden works predominantly with acrylic on canvas painting and plasticine clay sculpting. She enjoys micro food sculpting as well as landscape and modern contemporary acrylic painting. Gounden enjoys painting with her fingers as opposed to a brush as this creates a connection for her to the painting.

Since she matriculated in 2007, she found herself too busy with obtaining her LLB to pursue her love of art. Gounden's spark and love for the arts has been reignited since the birth of her first child and the time away from work allowed her the opportunity to paint and sculpt again.

She believes that the birth of her child is the inspiration behind her work. To give life is the ultimate recognition of the beauty of the inconceivable wonder of God's creation.

She is a self-taught artist who paints and sculpts part time but someday hopes to become a full time Artist.
