About Sylvia

As a child I always loved drawing, sketching etc. Worked many years as a bookkeeper with the thought in mind that I oneday would like to paint. At that stage I never had the time to do so. After retiring I was bored with nothing of value to do so had many hobbies ie needlepoint, knitting, sewing, decopage, beadwork, crochet, reading, fabric painting etc. My husband and I have lived on our Dairy Farm in Macleantown for the past 45 years. We have one son who with his wife and our two grandsons live on the farm. Eleven years ago I was inspired by my younger sister Valerie Weber to start painting. Her paintings were magnificent. After taking some basic lessons I developed my own style of painting using oils on canvas. I simply enjoy painting whatever the subject may be. My favourite, being animals and flowers. I have exhibited and sold mostly in South Africa. Exhibitions at Queenstown, King Williams Town, Stutterheim and East London. I also sold a painting to someone in New Zealand. God willing I will continue painting for many more years.
